Tis the season!!!

Tis the season.....to scream with joy!!! My husband seems to be full of non-stop surprises and romance this month! We were supposed to have a small, simple Christmas but Chip really went way out of his way on this one! Check out the beautiful Coach purse I got!!! He even wrapped it himself! The pictures do it no justice at all!! It's lovely. I'm sure people in Kanab heard me screaming when I opened this!! I'm still in shock! We had a great Christmas together. It was fantastic to spend time together as well as with family and friends. I'm not really sure how 2007 can top this year with Chip but I do know I'm looking forward to things getting even better...just as they always do! My presents to him seem to pale in comparison but we were quite spoiled this year. Between slippers, the bedding, bubble bath, XBox games, new razors, etc. I'm not sure we have anything left to buy! Just Kidding! (The mall is breathing a sigh of relief right now) I can always find something :) Merry Christmas!

We're Going To The Playoffs!!!

Can I pick 'em or what!?! Chip is super annoyed at this point with my devotion to the Chargers! He "claims" that I can't be a "real fan" until I've cheered them on for a year :) I say...whatever :) He's just bitter!! I promise that if my team was losing (much like his Broncos...) I would be allowed to be a Chargers Fan! Anywho, it's rare that I get the chance to really get under Chip's skin so to make matter worse, I've ordered another Charger Shirt...the one that says they are their division champs! I can't wait for it to come in so I can find some way to wear it daily! Hey...careful what you wish for! He should of let me cheer on the Broncos as I originally requested! I encourage everyone who wants too...to remind him of this as often as possible! With any luck, we'll go all the way this year! Even if we don't, I couldn't love 'em any more!! GO CHARGERS!!!

Oh, Christmas Tree....

This is our pretty little tree :) Actually it's 9.5 feet. It's a lot of work to get this sucker up but it always looks so great when we do!

Apparently, Chip decided he had enough of fighting with me over the house slippers and went out and bought me my very own pair :) Now we no longer have to share! Plus, these fit my foot better anyway!!!

BEAT AGAIN!!!

For the 2ND TIME San Diego beat the Broncos 48-20!!! LT scored his 29th touchdown of the season, breaking the NFL single-season record!!! PLUS we won the AFC West Division!!! I couldn't be more excited about my team!!! Woo Hoo! GO CHARGERS!!!

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

Since Houston has become quite chilly (I can hear Daron snickering now) I decided to get the man who refuses to not wear shoes the perfect gift...House slippers! :) He was to embarrassed to model them (he doesn't have attractive feet) so I did it for him! They are as comfy as they look! Now the only dilemma we seem to be in, is deciding who's slippers they really are....his or mine! :)

Annual Christmas Dinner

Each year, Kirk, Denise, Chip and myself all get together for our Annual Christmas Dinner! This year, we went to The Melting Pot. For those of you who have not been yet, you MUST go!!! It's fantastic! They bring your food out to you (uncooked) and you cook all your food at the table. It's a 4 course meal with a cheese dip as a starter, then a salad of your choice, then your main course...ours consisted of Lobster, Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Potatoes, Veggies...all very good! Then of course is the dessert! Melted chocolate (ummmmmmmmmmmm) and everything from strawberries to brownies to dip in it! For those of you who know me, this is the point of the meal when I had felt I had reached heaven :) We decided after dinner to stop by a piano bar and do some dancing (well, Denise and I danced...with each other then with some old men). We packed up our leftovers and even some dessert to give to a homeless person on the way home. It was a great evening with great friends! I can't wait for next Christmas!!

Lucky Man :)

Well my boss invited all of his direct reports to a Rockets Game in a Suite! It was fantastic! We had a great time! There was food, drinks, good company and oh yeah!!! The Rockets Dancers stopped by for a picture! I volunteered Chip (he was resistant at first) but I think in the end, he's happy that he did it!

Christmas for Granny, Meem & Pap!

For Christmas this year, we (my mom, dad, aunt Donna, everyone) decorated reefs and trees for Granny, Meem & Pap. This is a picture of what they looked like! I think it turned out great!

Chip & Sarah

Nothing special going on at the moment...Chip and I are getting used to our new gym and are still on our quest to becoming the real Ken and Barbie!! (hehehehehe) You can check it out at: www.lifetimefitness.com. He got himself a personal trainer for Christmas so I'm sure in 30 days he'll look even more fantastic then he does now!!! I am still pluggin' away - slow progress but progress none the less. I'm sure by the time we die, we will have reached our goals!!! :) We'll have to update with full size pictures soon!!! Eeeeek! That could be scary!!! We also treated ourselves to the best Christmas present yet I think :) We bought a Serta Memory Foam Mattress pad and some 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets!!! Say it with me people....AHHHHHHHHHHHH! They are fantastic! It's like sleeping on a very, very soft cloud! Best money we've spent in a while - besides the new gym of course! It's perfect for our aching bodies after a long workout. The dogs (who sleep on the bed with us) seem to be sleeping better too which is important :) I think Jack likes to watch the foam pad pop back to it's original shape after he's rolled out of bed in the morning. We have 2 Christmas parties to attend this coming week. One is just for the CEO's staff and we'll be enjoying a Rocket's Game in a suite he's rented and the other is Questia's company party which is on Friday night at the exotic Omni Palace!! (NOT) Kirk & Denise are getting married in less than 28 days so everyone is busy running around making final wedding preparations. I'm meeting her for her final dress fitting on Wednesday after work and I can't wait to see how it all finally comes together on the 30th! Everything sounds like it's just going to be beautiful! I love weddings!!! :) More to come!!

It's ROUGH being good :)

Man! I can pick teams!!! Chargers won again over Oakland. :) (You would think that would be getting old but it's not!!!) I'm so excited that we are doing so well! I was hoping we would beat the Raiders - especially after winning against the Broncos but you never know!! :) Go Chargers! Go Chargers! Go Chargers! The Broncos played their first Thanksgiving game on Thursday against Kansas City and lost. They have also decided to bench their starting QB "Jake the Snake" for the rookie, Jay Cutler in Sunday's game against Seattle. I'm dying to see what happens!

Thanksgiving Vacation

Our Thanksgiving vacation was great! Chip's wasn't near long enough but I was fortunate to have the whole week off! I had plenty of time to clean, do some laundry and sit around and eat, eat and more eating! Thursday was packed full of family fun :) We went to Chip's mom's house in the morning and then it was off to my parents house that afternoon where I got see the whole family! My grandpa, my sister and her kids and my brother and his kids were all able to make it! Both dinners were fantastic :) After a serious turkey hang-over, we were finally motivated enough on Saturday to go join Lifetime Fitness (The new and amazing gym by our house) to work off those Thanksgiving pounds! We are very excited and although we loved seeing everyone and all the food - we are hoping for a low calorie Christmas! Yeah right! Unfortunately, we were not able to spend the day with Kirk & Denise but I thought this picture of Kirk was too perfect to pass up! Something about a man and a turkey! :) Dead sexy!

Battle at the Unerfusser's

Well it happened...Sunday, the Broncos "Barfos" played the Chargers!!! Chip was confident in his team telling me that the Chargers would win "When Hell Froze Over"!! Well, as it turns out, Texas is feeling a bit chilly this morning cause the CHARGERS WON!!!! I'm super pumped!! My team is doing fantastic! It was a close call but we beat them and in the end, that's all that really matters!!! GO CHARGERS!!!

Meet Flush :)

He's been talked about and even impressed people with his ability to survive Sarah, the "official" fish killer!!! I thought it was only fair to finally meet Flush :) Isn't he fabulous??? He's pretty excited about being famous now!

A tribute....

Who knew I had SO much talent?!?! :) I decided to surprise Chip with some beautiful graffiti in his garage :) Mantastic isn't it?? Much to my surprise, he was less then thrilled and has requested it return to it's original, boring, white color...I say, where's my tribute??? LOL

Renaissance Festival

That's right!?!?! After 7 LONG YEARS of waiting and promises...Chip finally took me to the Renaissance Festival on Saturday! WooHoo! It was a BLAST! Plus, we were able to go with the upcoming newlyweds Kirk & Denise!!! Come on people...say it with me...Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww :) Newlyweds :) They are SO cute!! Just give them a few years!!! Hahahahaha! Just kidding. Anywho - back to the Ren Fest...Lots and lots of strange and freaky people out there!!! We saw The Dead Bob Show and The Bird Show! Beautiful creatures - a wee bit scary when they are whizzing by your head! :) Denise and I rode an elephant and even threw knives!!! The boys were SO thrilled to learn we had no talent doing that!! Whew!
Something I did have a talent for was EATING! Oh my gosh! 80% of my day was spent walking (thank goodness I needed to work something off) and eating! From turkey legs, the sausage on a stick aka The King's Weenie (hehehe), to scottish eggs.....it was just endless. :) We did manage to squeeze (and I do mean squeeze) into this cute little get up and take a photo with the boys prior to leaving. We are winches (surprise, surprise) and the boys are musketeers! We had a lot of fun and some really great memories....it was worth the wait!

Talking with Daron

After a few drinks of our new vodka, Chip and I decided it had been entirely too long since we last called Kanab :) So, we picked up the phone and gave Daron & Jen a ring. Not much of a shocker but Jen had already slipped off to bed but we did get a chance to talk to the big D! Chip was rather impressed that we were on the phone for 26 minutes as most of his conversations never last more than 60 seconds :) We all talked and caught up on "old times" and what were doing for the holiday's. We also managed to watch the UT game which was just embarrassing but made for good conversation :) You can't see it (mainly because my huge forehead is in the way) but we are holding the phone (Daron is on the other end and we know he's smiling) and this is a recent pic of me, Chip and Daron!

New Fan's

Well we couldn't have "the kids" miss out on all the football fun! I decided to make them these super cute bandana's to wear on game day!!! Of course, that's Jack supporting the Broncos and Bailey is supporting the Chargers! Chip tells me that the footballs look like giant terd's but I did not have white puffy paint to do the laces. So, just encase it's unclear, they are footballs!

Cortney's Big 3 0

That's right! Cortney Ann turned the big 30 this past weekend! I've reminded her and her older brother that I am 1 year, 1 month and 17 days younger than her :) I love being the baby! Too bad that won't last much longer!!! I think Kirk & I are the last ones in our 20's for one more very short year :) We had a great time seeing her and the family this weekend and I forgot how funny she is after a bottle of champagne! :) Happy Birthday Cort!

Sunday Football Update

For the most part, we all won yesterday! I'm telling you - we've picked some great teams this year!!! The Chargers, The Broncos and The Saints all won their games yesterday and the Patriots barely lost to the Colts.

McSteamy vs. McDreamy

They are both so HOT! HOT! HOT! In my next life, I want to marry Matthew :) He's my McSteamy :) That's only of course cause I'm married to my McDreamy in this life :) Such a lucky, lucky girl! Clearly, I'm a huge Chip, Matthew and Grey’s Anatomy fan!!!

Can We Say FOOTBALL!?!?!?!

GO CHARGERS!!!! GO CHARGERS!!!! GO CHARGERS!!!! Thanks to Tomlinson's 3 touch downs, we totally stomped all over the St. Louis Ram's on Sunday 38-24! I can't wait to see what we have in store for the Cleveland Brown's next Sunday!!! Props has to go out to the Raiders for winning their first game of the season! (Daron is probably crying and wearing all black to celebrate) - Enjoy it while you can!!! The Broncos BARELY lost to the Colts 31-34 but played one of the best games this season! I know for sure they will win against Pittsburgh next Sunday with Chip cheering them on! The Saints lost 22-35 against Baltimore yesterday but have the chance to prove what New Orleans is made of against Tampa Bay next Sunday! The Patriots play tonight against the Vikings and will play the Colts next Sunday - can't wait to see what happens on these 2 games!

Surprises & Wedding Rings!!!

Turns out my husband is as sneaky as he is sweet!! Saturday Chip surprised me with this beauty as my wedding ring! I couldn't love anything more...other than him of course! When we married almost 5 years ago, he promised he would replace the ring we were married with. We both always wanted something old and vintage looking as well as a colored stone and this just far exceeded my expectations! It's everything I dreamed of and more!!! For me, it's just as unique as Chip and I :)

We Have Curtains!

Thank goodness someone in my family is talented!! My mom really worked hard to save us a fortune by making our living room curtains for us! It's hard to see the pin stripe detail in them but they are beautiful and we are happy to finally have curtains!!

Wine, Wine and More Wine!

We finally went to dinner at Japaniero's! The food was excellent - there was an accident on the way to the restaurant and by the time we had finally arrived at dinner, we had already been in the car for over an hour! Needless to say, we were all nice starving! After eating, we headed over to the Vineyard and proceeded to try several bottles of wine and champagne! Chip and Kirk ran into an old high school friend from Kingwood and we were having so much fun drinking wine out under the stars that we ended up closing the place down! :) We even took 2 wine glasses and our last bottle as a little momento from our fabulous evening!

Sarah's 29th Birthday

Wow! Can you believe it??? I'm going to be the BIG 3 O next year!!! Well this is me at work :) The guys in the finance department were nice enough to help me blow my diet completely out of the water by ordering me 2 Tres Leches cakes!!! That's them on the table and yes, they were as fantastic as they look!!! All of this after an incredible lunch at Lupe Tortillas!!! I even wore the hat :) I'm such a good sport :) I figure, might as well act like I'm in my 20's this year since next year I won't have an excuse!! :)

Astros Game

Denise, Kirk, Chip & I all went to the Astro's Game on July 27, 2006 - Kirk was the only one brave enough to take a picture with me :) Don't we look happy???

RIP Mickey

The exterminator came to the house this morning and has laid yet more sticky traps around the house. This time, I got a more "in detail" explanation of what happens when a mouse runs across these things which is apparently really gross. Anyway, it was either this or spray in the attack and hope he didn't pass away in our walls :) This time around it was obvious where he has been - we found droppings everywhere! He's clearly been really hungry as he's been in our pantry eating our food a lot....Anyway, everyone seems fairly confident that I should catch him sometime this week. So RIP Mickey Mouse :)

Visiting D.C.

That's right! Chip, Corey and Kirk took Washington D.C. by storm and the bars in Pentagon City and Old Town Virginia have never been the same! After a few nights of touring the local bars and waiting out the rainy weather, they were off to do the tours! The White House, Pentagon, Arlington cemetery, Smithsonian...nothing was off limits! After 4 days and 3 nights in our nation's capital, they all came home tired but educated men!!

Kanabians?

Ahhhh to my long lost Kanabian friends...Daron & Jen :) I miss ya'll so much! The hunt for replacements for ya'll is not going as well as I had hoped. I do however enjoy all of our little letters back and forth to each other :) I think I was 9 yrs old the last time I had a pen pal :) Thank you for the special little gift included in the letter. Between that and the pink, sparkly U that you sent me on my birthday, my keychain is begining to look like a Kanab/Daron & Jen shrine! The good news is that football, much like at your house, has once again taken over our lives...Not to mention, I’m equally as pumped that it seems to be on every day of the week now! Really, I live for these months…it’s the PERFECT excuse to feed my shopping habit and now, with football on ALL the time – well, you do the math...We are becoming broke but I’m looking fantastic!
I can’t believe people are complaining about the dogs and that you have to register them with the city! More importantly, I didn’t know Kanab was a city (laughing!) I thought it was a town?? Kidding! Even more so, I’m sad that Rodeo and Zeena will no longer be Houstonians but "official" Kanabians?? Is that what ya’ll are called????
As usual, we still really aren’t experiencing much fall weather. We dropped to like 88 for 3 days in a row but we’re still holding strong at 90’s for the most part! Lucky us! Between all the evacuees from Louisiana, the steamy hot fall weather and the lovely scenery, Houston is really becoming just a dream place to live and I’m happy that we will be here till we die.
It's hard to believe ya'll would rather live there then here with us :)
