I think this contest is hilarious and every year, it just gets funnier to me. Normally, a Chinese Crusted is always the winner but for 2009 they went with a 4 year old boxer mix named Pabst. Congratulations! He's this year's winner of the Ugliest Dog Contest!

This weekend, Madison had her very first play date with Eve and mommy got to catch up with an old friend Felicia!! We had such a good time as did the girls! Felicia's house is amazing and she was the perfect host! The girls were sharing/feeding each other lunch, played Up! Down! and even had time to take care of the "babies". Felicia caught this shot of Madison playing with my shoes....Eve was napping like a good girl :) I can't wait to do it again!

Baba Yega's

Thank you to everyone who made it out to girls day at Baba Yega's! It was fun to have our mom's there (they are always welcome!!!) and to see old friends and meet some new ones! Although it was hot, the food was great and the company even better! I hope to see you all again in August!

Everything Madison does is cute to Chip and I but we think her latest thing, is especially cute!! Before running down the hall to tuck herself in for the night, she gives daddy hugs and kisses good night and says "night night" then gives the pictures of her grandparents kisses too!

Happy Father's Day

As are most of our holiday's, we were very busy this Father's Day! We celebrated with Chip's dad at El Patio downtown on Saturday and had so much fun! Both Chip's sisters were able to make it out along with his niece and the kids were so cute playing together!! Sunday we took Chip to brunch at a restaurant he's been dying to try called Brisa. He loved it! My parents were able to join us for a double Father's Day celebration!! We went to my parents pool that afternoon and met up with my sister and her family and enjoyed really good burgers that Chip cooked for us!! All in all, it was a family packed weekend and Chip and I wouldn't want it any other way!!!

Welcome To Vegas!!!

I have the BEST hubby in the world! For my birthday, he bought me a "girls trip" to VEGAS!!! I'm am SO excited! I have 12 weeks until I get to spend blissful (baby free - no offense Maddie!) days with my girls getting pampered, hitting the hot night spots and gambling! My birthday is in September but this was an awesome early gift!!! Viva Las Vegas!!!

Here is more proof! Madison and her Jack (a.k.a Bubba) are inseparable! I'm sure this is mostly more of Maddie's preference over Jack but he's a good boy and takes it! This weekend, I was busy cleaning the house when I walked around the corner to this! Excuse the laundry in the background! As I said, I was cleaning!! LOL

On Your Marks! Get Set! GO!!!!

Saturday Madison, Chip, my mom and me went to lunch then headed off to the Sam Houston Race Park to watch the horses and to see the annual weenie dog races! I have to tell you, this was too much fun! The horses are fun and the weenie dogs were hysterical! They were running every direction (except the right direction!) and only 2 dogs out of the 4 races they did actually crossed the finish line! Aside from the horrible accident when they had to euthanize a horse on the track, it was a great day! Madison had tons of fun making horse noises and screaming "puppy!!!" at every weenie dog in site! We will for sure have to go back!

Sleeping Beauty

Every morning, Madison eats a bottle then snuggles up in my bed and falls right back to sleep! I cherish this time because it's the only time I have to get ready for work in the morning! The bad thing is that she clearly sleeps much harder in my bed than in hers!!! LOL This is what I have to wake up every morning :) She's out! Aren't they cute when they are still and sleeping!?!? LOL

Hardest Working Dad!

Father's Day should be a year long celebration when it comes to Chip! With the hours I work, he's the hardest working dad I know! I appreciate him so much! By the time we get home, he's worked out, cooked Madison a special meal that is set up and ready for her, he's cooked us dinner, generally greets me with a glass of wine or some special cocktail he's come up with, a hug and kiss, a clean house and it doesn't stop there! He gets Maddie set up with her learning videos and books and after she eats, he loads her up in her wagon and takes her for a walk. He generally plays with her outside until dusk/bath time then he heads inside to give her a bath. He makes sure she's all ready for bed and tucks her in! By 5:30 am the next morning, he's bringing her breakfast and making sure I have everything I need before he heads back off to work! What lucky girls we both are to have such a wonderful husband and father!!! We love you and appreciate all you do!

Back to the ole stomping grounds....

I love this place! It's my new Friday Girls Night with my daughter hang out! Last weekend, Meme and Papa joined us! They treated to the stomping grounds for Maddie to play then to Jason's Deli (ummmmmmm!). Papa even shared an ice cream cone with Miss Madison! By the end of it, they were both so sticky we had to undress her at the restaurant before putting her back in the car! Lucky, Papa waited until he got home to change! I think you can be arrested for that as an adult! LOL

Not quite ready...

The other day I was sitting on the couch talking to my best girlfriend when around the corner came running my precious little angel....stark naked handing her diaper to me! After the shock (and relief there was nothing in it!), my friend (who has 3 of her own) said "that's a huge sign mommy! someone is ready for potty training!!" so, I got all excited and went and got a pair of her first big girl "elmo" or "mel-mo" as Maddie calls it, panties! I was so excited and we thought she looked so cute! She was doing good - running around and playing, enjoying the freedom of no diapers! Then, I turned around and there she was - peeing by the dog bowls! No warning, no signs, no "mommy I have to go" just peeing. So, we may not be quite as ready as I thought for big girl panties but we are moving that direction! The cute pics I got out of it were worth it!

Summer Time!!!

Every weekend, in a desperate attempt to get a shade "darker" than my current Casper glow, I head to my parents 1 day for a few hours at the pool. I bring Madison with me and as you can see, she always has a great time!
