Pumpkin Patch

Since Halloween is approaching I took Madison to the pumpkin patch with her cousins to pick out her very own pumpkin and one for Daddy too!

Trick Or Treat!

So on Madison's 2nd Halloween (Yes, 2nd - she was born the day before!!!) we dressed her up as Tinkerbell and we headed over to Greatwood to do some Trick or Treating for the first time! I think PaPa Olson was more excited than Madison! We loaded her up in her wagon that PawPaw & MawMaw Unerfusser got her and off we went! For the first few houses she wasn't quite sure to make of all the strange little ghosts and goblins roaming around but by the end of the night, she was chowing down on some candy corns and giving everyone high fives! She even managed to score some candy from other little kids passing by that thought she was so cute - they gave her some of their candy!!!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!

If you were too look up the definition, there you would see a picture of my little angel! The only problem, she seems to take the halo off as soon as she's dropped off at daycare! In the past 2 weeks our daughter has been written up twice at school! Once for fighting (yes, fighting - they even put marks on each other AND it was with a boy no doubt!!!) and once for biting! The same little boy! I don't know if these two have a love-hate relationship or what but I'm thinking that he clearly bugs my Maddie something awful! I think we are the only parents on the planet that have a 1 year old that is so scrappy! She FOR SURE gets that from her dad! I'm hoping this is a temporary thing!

Obama - Yuck!

Since I have listened to most people I know go on and on and on about the democratic party and Barak Obama, I have patiently listened, smiled and kept my mouth shut. This is extremely hard for me to do! I personally do not believe in shoving politics down any one's throat much like religion - I think it should be kept to yourself unless you are positive you are sharing your views with others who agree with you.
BUT since this is MY blog and you are free to read or not - I am sick of being silent and listening to all the buzz around our new president! Please! I beg of you! Stop talking about him to me! I do not like him or agree with his views. I'm sick of seeing his name and the signs everywhere I turn! It's bad enough I'm going to have to listen to him and his decisions for the next 4 years! The damage has been done and it is what it is. In my opinion, I'm just going to sit back and watch this disaster unfold. We traded a 3rd term of president Bush for a 3rd term of president Clinton - a president we impeached!!! So great job America!! That is for sure a different direction!

Ok, so my costume is not original but I think it looks so natural don't you?!?! Chip says it's a stretch which makes it the perfect costume! I'll let you be the judge! Miss Madison has "Halloween PJ Day" at school so as usual, I dressed up my little one and sent her off. We took this picture at like 5am - needless to say, she's less than thrilled!!! What a look! I have some happier pictures I will post later! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

So I often joked when I had the Maxima that I was going to send it off to L.A. to "Pimp My Ride" so that it would come back Pink and Sparkly and well just Oh So Sarah!!! WELL, looks like someone else had something MUCH better in mind! If there was ever a car that just SCREAMED my name, I would think this would be it!!! If there is such a thing as car heaven, this is mine! It was unveiled at SEMA in 2007 by DUB Magazine. It's a Mercedes-Benz SL600 that is covered with over 200,000 Swarkovski crystals and of course, Bavarian White Mammoth seat covers!!! Ummmm Pretty!

Madison's Party

Madison's 1st birthday is being celebrated this weekend at our house!!! I will be sure to update you with tons of pics - it's HELLO KITTY THEME!! Weeeee!

1 Year Updates

So Miss Madison will be turning the big 1 on the 30th of October! Hard to believe that it has already been a year. She's such a big girl! She for the most part is walking. Once she figures out she is on her own, she sort of freaks out and sits down but she's taking several steps on her own and walks perfectly if you are holding her hand. She can crawl at a racing speed (it's really running on her knees) and she has learned the beautiful thing about shaking your head NO! :) She spits her big girl food back in your face, takes EVERYTHING you put away back out and on the floor and she knows how to get what she wants - whenever she wants it! She's the perfect combination of Chip and I....and we know that means we are in SOOOO much trouble!! However, we wouldn't trade if for the world! I'll be sure to update pictures as soon as I can find the cord for my camera! I think I lost it at one of the Texans Games!

Zoo

So this Saturday, Chip took Madison and I to the Houston Zoo. The weather was PERFECT and it was SO much fun! Madison really enjoyed the larger active animals. I'm sure it's because those were the ones she could really see! Her faves were the elephants, giraffes and monkeys! As soon as I can find a cord to get the pictures off my camera I will update them here!

It's a blurry picture but it's proof!!! DO YOU SEE THE HAIR!!?! OH! And she has 4 teeth! 2 on the top - 2 on the bottom!

Hurricane IKE

So sad.....I'm glad all of our loved ones are ok.

It's My Party....

So, seems I have a thing with hurricane's and tropical storms! First, Allison ruined Chip & I's engagement party and then Ike ruined my 31st birthday....well, tried too anyway! Turns out, we were fortunate, there was no damage to the house (only the fence) and the worst issue was being without power for 5 days!!! On the bright side, some exciting stuff happened during Ike. For one, my daughter took her first step while visiting Meme & PaPa!! SO CUTE!! She's so big! AND the power company gave me power yesterday for my b-day! Best present EVER!!! Yesterday was a peaceful and relaxing day. I spent the day with Madison and at Target - my 2 favorite things!!! All in all, I'm happy that we are all well and even though Ike cancelled my b-day party, there are no tears shed from me!!! I got to spend my day with my daughter, relaxing at home in my AC!!! 31 has started out great so far!

Pink and Sparkly

Take a deep breath and breathe in people!!! FOOTBALL season is here again!!!! As of now, the Texans are looking to be an embarrassment and Brady might be out for the whole season! Bad for Denise -good for the rest of the league! My parents took a small vacation to San Diego last week and while there, were kind enough to pick me up my very own Chargers Jersey!!! (Thanks Mom & Dad) AND because they LOVE me so much - it's even PINK and SPARKLY!!! They Rock!

Going....Going.....Gone!!!

I knew the day was coming...and as parents, we even try to encourage it....then, when it happens, you realize that even though it's cute and sweet, the days of you resting AT ALL are O-V-E-R!!! For months we have been encouraging Madison to walk in her walker, around the house, around furniture and now, we've given her a grocery cart to push around! Let me tell you, it took her all of about 2 seconds it seems to figure this out and now she is off! I know her walking without anything is coming VERY soon!!!

Give me the Penguin!!!

So over labor day holiday, Chip decided to finally take a day off/weekend off from work and do something with Maddie and I! Yippie! So, his choice??? Moody Garden's in Galveston for the day! At first, I was a bit worried how our baby girl would do with the drive and being out there all day and the ride back but she was a complete ANGEL as usual! I'm telling you - we have the best baby ever! She's just such a sweetheart! Well her favorite part of the whole trip was the penguins!! She was stomping her feet and talking to them, waving and banging on the glass! She had a fantastic time! To honor her new found love of the little creatures we went and got her a penguin at the gift shop....well, I attempted to remove the penguin from her kung foo death grip to add something else to it and she FREAKED out!!! I panicked! She's never really flipped out in public -- Chip just said "Give her the penguin back!" so I did and the world was at peace again! Whew! Won't be making that mistake again!!!

Today is my brother-in-law's big 40th birthday!! He had a chance this weekend to hang on to the last second of his youth (hehehe - kidding) by jammin' out with his friends at a surprise party on Saturday while listening to classic 80's music in the background!
Then it was a much needed relaxing day at my parents pool on Sunday (older people need time to recover from a night of hard partying) - today he wakes up all GROWN UP and 40!

Dog Days....

Madison sure has learned quickly how to beat the dog days of summer! By taking a dip in the biggest bath tub she has ever seen!!! She LOVES LOVES LOVES my parents new pool - the only problem is that when it comes to bath time at home - she's a little confused why she can't get out of her bath seat and play!!!

9 Months

On July 30th, Madison turned 9 months old! I could go on and on and on about how cute she is and the million little things that she does that just makes your whole life better! But, everyone feels this way about their kids so I will not bore you with the details :) She rocks Chip and I's world and we love every second of it!!! Here's some recent pictures of her!

Sleeping Beauty

This is the worst pic ever of Miss Madison and sometime in the future, she is going to kill me for doing this BUT such is life and I am her mother and this is one of the perks! I really am doing it for the outfit not to be cruel - this is the outfit that Chip's parents bought her that I think is just too cute!! I had to dress her this morning and she would barely wake up she was so tired! She partied way too hard on a Sunday!!! Then I had to pour her into her car seat to go to school - this was this morning - she wouldn't give me a smile much less open her eyes! Man she looks so big in this picture!! LOL Surprisingly enough, she is considered really small for her age. The doctor wants her to gain some more weight! Don't you wish we were ALL told that by our doctors!?!? So here she is - in all her beauty :) My little 9 month old, ALMOST 18 lbs little girl in her precious little outfit and head band!!! (laughing)
