Nap Time

Nap time is not one of Madison's favorite time - she would rather be held 24/7 but since that is not possible, I am attempting to get her sleeping in her own crib like the big girl she thinks she is :) As you can see, wide awake....we're still working on it! LOL On the other hand, she lives on the green Boppy pillow that her Aunt Courtney got her and she's perfectly fine sleeping on it, along with Jack :) Seems the new BFF's like taking naps together!!!

I'm A Big Girl Now

Growing up so fast! I can't believe she's 7 weeks already! She doesn't even look like the same little girl I brought home...ok, she was never really "little" but you get the idea :)

7 Weeks

Maddie will turn 7 weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe it. Time is flying by way, way too fast. I wish I could stay home with her forever. I about cried last night - it was the first time I had to put her in "big girl diapers" LOL. She can no longer wear the newborn size, she's in a size 1 now. I know to most of you, this may seem like I'm nuts but I just can't believe how big she's getting and how fast. January 22nd is when I go back to work and I'm dreading it. These have been the best 7 weeks of my life. It's funny, you never really understand why everyone goes so "ga, ga" over thier kids until you have one. They are the best! The older she gets, she's really starting to be even more fun which just makes it harder. By the time I go back to work, she'll be doing all kinds of new things that I'm so sorry I have to miss.
We didn't do much this past weekend...we went to my work's Christmas party on Friday night - Maddie stayed with my parents and we had a good time. It was good to see everyone again. The hotel was nice, it was the Crown Plaza downtown. The food was good and they had great gifts for give a ways, none of which we won of course but it was still fun. We will be going to have our annual Christmas dinner with Kirk & Denise this coming weekend - that should be fun as always. We are still hammering out the details on where to go as we always try something new. This will be our 5th year to do that as well - wow, we are getting old! LOL

Shadow Of The Day

When Madison was born, Chip found a song - just for her that he really loved. So, after listening to it a thousand times going back and forth to and from the hospital, he got his chance to play it for her on the way home. As soon as he pulled the car up to the front door of the hospital to pick us up, he put Maddie safely in her car seat, then in the car and had the song all ready to go for her to listen to. Now, I play her daddy's song every time we are in the car together so she'll never forget it. Chip took these pictures yesterday of the sunset and I thought they were cool and went well with her song he gave her which is "Shadow of the day" by Linkin Park. I think someone has already stole daddy's heart :)

Lunch with PawPaw and MawMaw

Chip's parents invited us over for lunch and to watch the Texans game at the loft yesterday. I won't comment too much on the game but I can tell you lunch was fantastic and it was good to see everyone! Unfortunately for them, Madison slept ALL day! Not a good way to visit your grandparents! We still documented the visit and got some cute pics of her in her outfit....she's showing a little leg!!

Snuggle Partners

Not sure if I mentioned this yet, probably not which reminds me I'll need to take some pictures.....anyway, Chip and I had hardwood floors put in our house which we just LOVE! Unfortunately for our other children, Jack & Bailey, this proved to be a huge annoyance to our pampered pooches. The floors have made it difficult for them to walk, run or even get up on the furniture....so, being the good parents we are :) we went and got them a doggie bed which they both have a hard time fitting on! Anyway, they seem to be enjoying the new bed and I just couldn't resist this cute shot! Just like with real babies, they are so cute....when they sleep! Kidding!

Maddie's First Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my mom's house this year with my brother, sister, their kids as well as with my grandpa, Maddie's great grandpa! My mom made her famous Thanksgiving dinner which was so good and did not help in losing any baby weight! Anyway, I had a great time and Madison got some great pics (she's going to hate the outfit I put her in someday - hehe, being a parent has it's perks!!!) with her great grandpa, her aunt Stephanie and all of her cousins on my side of the family! Happy Turkey Day! Gobble! Gobble!! :)

Parents.....Seriously, Can you believe it????

Hi Everyone! I realize it's been a while since my last update but I've been suddenly tossed into "baby land" :) Madison is great but this whole parenting thing is tougher then I thought!! She was totally worth everything I went through but it doesn't take long to realize that Chip and I's life completely revolves around someone else now and her name is Maddie :) We don't do a thing that she doesn't want to do! We eat, sleep and everything else around her schedule. LOL
She's been a lot of fun and every week she becomes a little more alert and does new things daily it seems. She doesn't even look like the same little girl I brought home and she's already getting so big. Her last doctor's appointment she had already gained a pound! Her 1 month (I know - can you believe she's a month old already!!!) is next Tuesday and I know she's gained even more since her last visit - she always seems a bit heavier then the last time I picked her up! As of now, she looks a lot like her daddy - I know, poor thing! Just kidding! I've attached some new pictures for everyone to enjoy. Personally, I think she's a doll but then again, I am her mom!

She's Here!!!!

Born October 30th at 9:25 AM. She was 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 inches long!!! BIG BABY!!! She was worth the wait! These are just a few pics...we are always looking for the perfect Kodak moments but they are hard to keep track of since she looks so different each day! Everyone is doing well and recovering well.
