After a weekend of hard work, why let them rest!?!? I had Chip working to the point of exhaustion in our back yard and really, he's not done yet :) Since we started "fixing" things up back there with the garden - why not have him build a gazebo for the patio as well!?!? I mean really, is there NOTHING he can't do!?!? LOL

Such a good guy - anything for his girls...and we ask for A LOT! Ahhhh, relaxing in the SHADE while poor Chippers slaves away in the hot sun! I mean it wasn't like I was asking him to do it in JUNE when it's 100 outside - just a mere 85! :D

So Chip had a wonderful idea! For us to start a garden and let Maddie help it grow! I LOVED the idea - mainly because I hardly had to do any of the work!!! LOL Chip built us a beautiful box and filled it with the proper soil. Then we went to pick our stuff!!! Jalapenos, Peppers, Tomatoes, Basil, Parsley, Red Onions...The whole enchilada!

Madison takes Dance class on Friday mornings (Not ballet but all types of dance) and Gymnastics on Saturday mornings. Here she is all dressed for Gymnastics :) Soooo cute!

Layla Grace 11/26/2007 - 3/9/2010

I used to work with Ryan at Questia. I won't go on into too much detail because I just can't type, think or talk about this without breaking down. I don't even know how he and his family are strong enough to survive this. I just know they are in my family's thought and prayers.

Ryan's daughter, Layla Grace passed away from Neuroblastoma. Please check out the blog they did for her and learn about her, Ryan and his family's journey.

Chip and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day BUT Meme & PaPa do!!! Guess who their Valentine was!?!? Yep, what a shocker - Maddie :) They got her this little scooter thing...hard to explain. Anyway, she loves it and now we are all racing each other around the house in all her little rides!! Maddie normally gets the little Jeep, Chip takes this thing which generally makes me stuck with the inch worm thing which never really works out well for me! SO, here is Maddie being nice and letting her old mom ride along with her :) Thanks baby!!! xoxoxox

Stewart

Madison's fave new movie...Stewart Little SO of course Chip and I had to go get HER VERY OWN Stewart!!! :) LOL This one is a hamster (although she insists it's a mouse - must be the gray coloring) and he's super small!!! BUT, his name is Stewart and we like our new little addition! We are working on the "BE SOFT! PET WITH 1 FINGER!" rule but she's coming around and he's very patient with her! She's so used to our big, tough dogs that being delicate isn't really something she's used too :)

Febrile Seizure

The Wednesday before Christmas, December 23rd turned out to be a horrible afternoon for Chip and I. Our daughter had a Febrile Seizure. It's caused by a temperature rising too quickly. Of course, we had no idea what was going on. It last around 5 min. and lucky for us, we just happened to be at her Pediatrician's office when it happened. They were able to give Madison oxygen and bring her fever down. There shouldn't be any long term damage from the seizure and they can't say one way or the other if it will happen again. Most likely, at least I hope, not.

The cause of the fever was yet another ear infection and one tube has fallen out. It's been a great 10 months with the tubes in and I can only hope that our trouble with her ears is coming to an end.

I have to tell you, nothing makes you more grateful for everything in life. When something like this happens to your child, I don't know how to explain it but the whole world just stops. It's like being in the twilight zone. It's horrible. Like you can't breathe. Like you try to keep your mind from going to every possible horrible scenario you can think of. You just never want them to suffer. It was the worst 5 min. of my life and I would give anything and I do mean anything for it to never happen again.

I spent the rest of Christmas and my week of vacation smothering Madison. I let her go to daycare again here and there for a few hours just to get used to today and I have to tell you, even today I'm watching her like a hawk. I have no idea when this fear will pass but I think to understand, you had to see my daughter the way I saw her. I don't think that image will ever leave my mind.
